SKO18 Recap: Fun in the Sun with C4K's Varsity Board!
This past Saturday, the C4K Varsity Board celebrated the the fifth anniversary of the Summer Kickoff (SKO18)! This city-wide collection drive and summer festival drew over 500 attendees to the Wheeler Ferris Wheel. Guests enjoyed activities like inflatables from the Energy FC, free face painting, a dunk tank, an official cornhole tournament presented by The Franchise, a raffle, bubble soccer and more!
Even though it was warm that day we were even able to host our three mascot friends - Blaze the Braggin' Blue Dragon from Blue Cross Blue Shield, Boomer from OU, and Pistol Pete from OSU. They mingled with the crowd and posed for photos in front of the iconic OKC sign.
We also honored Keith Sinor from OKCPS as our inaugural inductee into the C4K Hall of Fame. Mr. Sinor's vision for athletics in Oklahoma City shows his belief in the power of sports. During his time as Athletic Director of OKCPS, Mr. Sinor has already created a character building program with a sports focus, increased training and support for coaches, created space for new programs, revitalized old programs, and increased overall sports participation in the district. We are thankful for his partnership as we seek to equip and empower kids!
The C4K Varsity Board is proud to announce that the event raised a total of $25,000 for programs that get equipment in the hands of kids who need it. All of us would like to thank our sponsors, in-kind donors, community partners, volunteers, and the Wheeler Ferris Wheel staff for making this event so much fun!
