Judge Don Andrews Begins Term as OCBA President
C4K would like to congratulate Judge Don Andrews on beginning his term as the new Oklahoma County Bar Association President! We sat down with Judge Andrews to talk about how his experience in the law field and how it has informed his view of and participation in philanthropy.
“During my career in private practice, I was not very concerned with philanthropy. I participated in some activities that benefitted philanthropic organizations, and that was the extent of my involvement. Almost ten years ago, I became a public official. I immediately realized that there is a significant need for philanthropic services from the private sector that provide quality care to others. It is simple: getting more involved and wanting to do more. It is a natural progression to serve in leadership roles in these organizations. We need good leaders, and it is important for those who are capable to step up when asked. Once I got involved, I quickly realized that it is not only a blessing to serve others, but it is truly a blessing to experience the expressions of gratitude from the recipients. It changes your perspective on what is important in life, and this is a daily occurrence at C4K, which is one of the main reasons I am so honored to be involved.”
