C4K Visits Bodine Elementary for a Special Presentation
C4K's partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma has helped us equip and empower thousands of Oklahoma children through sports. Most recently, we were able to present 20 OKCPS elementary schools with Power Play Packs containing bean bags, foam balls, cones, hula hoops, poly spots, scrimmage vests and assorted sports balls meant to enrich existing PE curriculum.
Our first distribution at Cleveland Elementary was a huge success and the C4K staff was excited to visit Bodine Elementary in South OKC in early December. The PE teacher at Bodine, Toby Harbin, has been a longtime coach partner and friend of C4K's. We couldn't wait to meet her students and share this new equipment with them!
Bodine students got a chance to hear from Dawn Chernicky from OKCPS as well as Mikayla Darden from the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. Mikayla led the kids in a series of stretches and shared the importance of warming up before being active. Kids were then encouraged to give the new equipment a try - a few even got into a hula hooping competition with Allyson!
We are so thankful for companies like Blue Cross Blue Shield for their investment in the community and their support of our mission. We are so excited to hear how this new equipment makes an impact on the PE classes here at Bodine and hope it results in a ton of fun for these incredible students!
