C4K Celebrates 10 Years of Changing the Game for Oklahoma Kids
When Mark and Stacy McDaniel started Cleats for Kids in 2011, they had no idea the immense impact a pile of outgrown sports shoes and equipment in their garage would have on the community. As the couple watched their three athletic kids play games across the city, they also noticed that some of their teammates and opponents did not have the proper gear to play safely. Stacy and Mark started recycling their kids gear and passing it on to others and, thus, C4K was born.
Since 2011, C4K has been able to impact the lives of over 100,000 Oklahoma kids from 208 school districts from all corners of our state. Every day we serve coaches, families and athletes through our OKC-based Locker Room. This space is specifically designed for athletes, their coaches and their families to find the gear they need to get in the game, free of charge. The last 10 years have been filled with inspiring moments and stories that speak directly to the power that sports have in the lives of kids.
The most exciting part about this milestone is the opportunity to celebrate the incredible people we’ve met along the way who are changing the game for kids in our community. We’ve met coaches whose work with athletes is truly inspiring. We’ve met visionary educators who believe in the power of sports. We’ve made powerful partnerships with nonprofits and businesses to improve the lives of kids. And we’re just getting started!
As part of our 10 Year Anniversary Celebration, C4K will be highlighting what it means to be a Gamechanger all year long. We’ll be spotlighting some of our powerhouse partners while sharing impactful testimonies from actual coaches and students. This is something you won’t want to miss. This exciting year will culminate in The Gamechanger Tailgate: a celebration unlike anything Oklahoma City has ever seen on April 30, 2022.

We are excited to continue helping more kids experience the power of sports.”
